Eighteen years, one studio

glook42 is the 2026 name of a studio that has built and run websites from Cluj-Napoca since 2008. The short version of how it got here.

2008. Three friends and a product that never shipped

Seonid Studio started in March 2008 with three associates and one idea: build our own web product. We spent a year and a half on it and got to about ninety percent. Then the money ran out, there was none left for marketing, and we had to drop it. Lesson one, learned the expensive way: a product is finished when people can buy it, not when the code works.

2009–2013. Websites for other people's clients

We paid the bills the way most small studios do: building sites for agencies. A French agency group became our first long-term client in 2009 and is still one in 2026; over the years we built about forty shops for their small-business customers, white-label. Știri de Cluj, a local news site, came the same year and is still hosted with us. In 2011 the company was re-registered as Seonid Studio SRL, and two things we built for ourselves went live: a store for CS-Cart add-ons that served about five hundred shop owners around the world, and Bubbleweb, a live-chat service built with a French partner. Bubbleweb was a good product for its time. It never got the promotion budget it needed, and that was lesson two.

2014–2017. Our own products, and a team of eighteen

By 2014 the studio was building more than websites. PhotoGo, a photobook and calendar builder made with a Cluj printer, ran from the browser editor to the print-ready PDF and stayed in business until 2023. In the United States, Kerusso, a Christian apparel retailer, ran its main store and four brand storefronts on our code from 2012 to 2016. Dutch game shops under GooHoo joined in 2015 and are still clients today. At the peak, in 2015–2017, Seonid Studio was eighteen people: developers, designers, project managers and support. It was the busiest the studio has ever been, and also the most fragile, because every project was custom and every new site started from zero.

2018–2020. Switzerland, and back to one person

In 2018 a Swiss e-commerce company, Nelocom, brought us its B2B and multi-store projects. That relationship grew into saldia, a Swiss multi-vendor marketplace with 900,000 products, where Tudor Vasinca, the founder behind glook42, has been lead developer and sysadmin since 2020. Over the same two years the other partners left to do their own things, and by the end of 2020 the studio was one person again, by choice: fewer clients, longer relationships, and no project we would not host and maintain ourselves.

2021–2026. The platform

Running fewer sites for longer changes what you build. From 2021 we moved client sites onto our own servers, and we started turning the parts every site needs, the admin, media, search, push notifications, caching, deployment, into one platform instead of rebuilding them for each project. The first production site on it, a Cluj medical news publication, went live in June 2026; three more publications and a second-hand gear marketplace followed the same summer. In October 2026 the platform and the studio got one name: glook42.

What that history means for you

Eighteen years of running other people's sites taught us what breaks and what lasts. glook42 is the result: finished site models, hosted and updated by the people who built them, on a monthly subscription. The person who answers [email protected] is the person who deploys your site.
